My attention has been drawn by the reaction of the Electronic Media over the condolence message issued by Hon'ble Chief Minister of Nagaland, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu on the demise of Late Shri S S Khaplang, Chairman of NSCN(K) on 9th of June 2017. I stand behind every word of the statement of the Hon'ble Chief Minister. This statement of support is issued not that I am a Minister in his cabinet but as a concerned Naga citizen. I could not understand why the National Electronic Media are so much against the statement of my Hon'ble Chief Minister on this issue. The Fourth Estate is one of the crucial organs of Indian polity and government. They are no doubt part and parcel of the Nation builders and therefore are expected that they present every news item without fear and favour so as to serve the citizen of the nation with the correct information and present the correct perspective. I am really agitated while they have chosen to attack my Hon'ble Chief Minister Dr. Shürhozelie in this way over the condolence message on the demise of Late Shri SS Khaplang. According to me those media persons have ulterior motive rather than serving the Nation to denigrate the intellect of my Hon'ble Chief Minister Dr. Shürhozelie.

Everybody knows that Dr. Shürhozelie is one of the torch bearers of the Regional politics in the State and have been witness to many political upheavals over the last 60 years or more. He is not the only regionalist politician in India but there are many others across India who have been championing the regional politics in their respective States. I wanted to know in person as to who are those yesterday born children to attack on such an elderly statesmen like Dr. Shürhozelie. They may be good in speaking English language or journalistic language but they just know nothing in conducting real politics. They don't realise that by their presentation they have utterly misled the nation and therefore they are not worthy to be called members of the Fourth Estate community or fraternity. My words I have purposely selected to put across to the people that those media persons have not served the Nation but misled and put the Naga political issue in a wrong perspective.
